Photos of a remarkable van taken by Rob Hornsby

The photos shown below were supplied by our roving reporter Rob Hornsby of Mansfield in Victoria. Rob writes:

“Thought I would send you a couple of shots of a remarkable Van I spotted at Alice Spring CVP. The van was built by a guy from Queensland, and is off rod and self sufficient for 14 days in the bush. It has solar power shower toilet and many extras. The unit has an Aluminium welded frame with Aluminium Panels that are Glued to the framework, there is not a rivet in the whole unit a remarkable bit of work. Self retracting roll out awnings on both sides give great shelter regardless of sun location. The wheels are compatible with the towing vehicle. Rear view extension Mirrors are not required as the width of the Van does not necessitate the use of them.”

One reply on “Photos of a remarkable van taken by Rob Hornsby”

This is a fantastic van pictured here in Mt Surprise Qld(Bedrock Caravan Park, one of the best parks we stayed in).

Just a little correction, the van is not solar but has deep cycle batteries that power it for up to 14 days.
